The Treasury Department is responsible for all financial affairs of the Indiana Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. They provide payroll services for denominational employees and courtesy payroll for local churches and schools, invest conference funds according to policy, disburse funds according to donor designation, prepare financial statements, prepare the annual budget and monitor adherence to the budget, care of the office physical plant, oversee human resources and train local church and school treasurers.
The treasurer chairs and serves on various boards and committees. The treasurer is also the office manager.
The annual budget and conference policies, which are approved by the Indiana Conference Executive Committee, are adhered to in the work of the Treasury Department. General financial policies and guidelines are put in place by the North American Division and the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The treasury staff follows those policies and guidelines in managing the finances for the Indiana Conference.
The Indiana Conference auditors give limited assurance regarding the financial statements and/or reports presented to the church/school boards. Local church and school records are audited once every two years in accordance with North American Division Policy.
